Hi everyone, it has really been a while. Well, almost been like a year, how is everyone doing?

Checking back some recent comments, just realized that there are some loyal readers did say hi a while back. Am touch. Thank you for dropping by. Am doing fine, just getting older :) I took up photography, some of my not-so-updated work can be found here. Feel free to pay a visit to catch on with my recent life through the lens :) I hope all of you are doing fine as well :)

Well jasonlou supposed to be retired from blogging, but there is one incident at Ah Keat Seafood not long a go, i think mid of last month (February) has "agitated" jasonlou to write a "rare" review on this blog. I even went further down the road by posting the same comment below on every other blog reviews that i can find from google search, to spread the words. Help me spread the words also if you read this and agree with me.

Not long back, early this year, like many of you, I read a forwarded email about a blogger posting regarding this Ah Keat Seafood. Since my good friend from KL is here that time, I brought my friend there to give it a try. It was first for both of us, but unfortunately, it turns out to be the worst dining experience I/we ever had.

highlights:-
1. the place is always FULL with customer from opening to closing. You know why? Because everybody has to wait MINIMUM 30mins from order to dish serving. My encounter, waited 50mins before first dish is served!
2. losing my patient, i went to counter wanting to pay the drinks and plan to split. Cashier refused and the cook looked at me like “WTF”
3. Cook tag-line “we cook what, you eat what, WTF!”. Story line: my friend ordered “Kam Heong (cantonese) bamboo clamp”, but the one served looks wet and no curry at all. I asked the waiter “what is this?”. “sweet and sour bamboo clamp!” she replied. Then i asked “What did we order?”. “Kam Heong bamboo clamp!” she replied without any hesitation. “Well, our cook may be want to cook all the same (meaning dont want to wash the wok so many times), sooo…” the waiter add on and looking at me as if i need to take it or leave it, WTF! I tell her “I CANNOT ACCEPT THIS!”. So, she took it back to the cook. After 5mins, she came back with the same plate of “thing”, just re-wok again with some chillies and still wet like “sweet and sour!” WTFFFFFFF! the dish tasted like crap!
4. 2 crabs fried with salted egg yolk, 2 steamed mantis prawn, 1 plate of so called “Kam Heong + sweet & sour” bamboo clamp cost us RM130!

Well, if you can wait, dont mind what being served and dont mind pay more, why NOT!

Hi readers, how are you doing?

First and foremost, I would like to apologize for the lack of update recently. As you can see, my blog site is more or less like Jules one a while back, but Jules rebounded back recently after a major project Tape Out =)

Life has been really great after I met my other half. Guess I will skip the detail to avoid major 'discomfort' or 'lost of appetite' syndrom =)

In short, I don't have to nag here anymore, because all those complains seem insignificant. Life priorities straighten and time seems not enough for many things. As for the great moments, I think I would like to be selfish a little and keep it in between two of us.

So, actually I have decided to bring "me?me...me!!!" to dormant mode, since I know I wont be able to update it that frequent anymore. To some of my loyal readers, am really sorry if I do offended you in anyway for such decision. I am truly sorry.

Dormant means that halt for the time being and not able to update it as frequent as daily anymore, but there's still a chance where once in a while, I can share some amazing stuff with you all =)

Today is a special day, because a year back today, I decided to forfeit my seniority, take a little bit of risk and a simple way out of my misery, and I joined my current company =)

Time flies, and it has been a year I am here. I am still me, just that I am much much more happier now than I was a year back, because I spent less time at work, and enjoy life the fullest, that is really a good thing =)

Here, I present you, the fishing game, which I have been playing A LOT recently, trading lots of my blogging time (not to mention working time, eating time, basketball time etc etc =), hoping and trying my humble luck in winning a chance to an extraordinary experience in life, which I truly believe it will.

Today, my car auto lock system gone nut and lock me out from my car with my car key still at ignition and engine still running. I almost gone crazy at that time *_*

Luckily, I approached the hotel staff nearby and they help me called a mechanic. Well, all I can say is, it is really an eye opening to see how to open the car without key.

In less than 10 seconds, with a small screw driver, a simple thing that usually people throw away, and a little bit of practice, my wira car can be opened easily. How easy to jack a car!

So, reminder to all, DONT ever trust the car lock.

Btw, I paid RM20 for the "jack" service.

When you are troubled, and you don't really know what to do by yourself, it is always good to ask for a 2nd opinion, and I totally agree with it. However, if the person you ask doesn't really know everything that are happening around you, under awkward circumstances, the opinion given may not be correct or incorrect. Opinion is still always an opinion. You still have to process everything given, take your time and think things through.

When you got used to doing something, but all of the sudden you totally lost it, the initial knee jerk reaction is, you are in the state of shock. You don't know what to do, and it is out of your control. You then try to find the cause. You later found out that you lost it because of something you did, intentionally or unintentionally, that will haunt you forever, and there is no way to make amend. Guilt started to creep in, sadness followed not long later, and all you can feel now is lost and helpless, for a period of time. I hope that my friend will find the resolution and peace of mind. Because it is unbearable to watch misery consuming a person up and you cant really do anything about it.

been a while

Halo everyone, it has been a while since I last regularly update my blog. Sorry about that.

For starter, above is a photo that I took a few days back, when I just reach home in the evening and walking towards the lift. Notice this "swoosh" cloud striking through the moon on the sky. Found that it is very interesting and a rare sight. Like it a lot =)

Recently, work started to pick up a little, since one project dateline is drawing near. But I still kept the work for 9-5. Therefore still fine =)

After work, spend lots of time with friends. It is great to have the companionship.

And as days goes by, Ah Beng & jlaw farewell is drawing near as well. A bit lost of what to do for them when they do leave. Farewell plan still doesn't really take shape and is considering keeping it simple or maybe a 1:1 farewell.

ex-company friends are extremely occupied with work, therefore, didnt really get to gather with them or have a meal with them. That has been a while already.

2 days back, I went back to ex-company and busy body a little with one of the annual sport event that they are having there. There was this ping pong competition between departments. I signed in as a visitor for "meeting" officially with Jules as escort "p

Taking a walk from the lobby until the cafeteria, notice there are some changes, physically or the feel or the atmosphere, yet still not a lot in certain way. There are still some familiar faces there, and there are also those who I am not so familiar with.

Well, what I want to say is, ex-company is still doing well, life there still goes on, with or without me. I must say that the visit there does really open me up a little, at least I do find major closure now for my hatred to my ex-manager as well as ex-company. I finally can lay down some of the burden and sigh relief. I decided to move on now. One thing for sure, ex-manger will still always be the person whom I hate the most in my whole life, but it has become insignificant. There are more things in life for me that are more important, now and future =) thanks to jules for signing me in =)

1st June is coming soon. That day will mark my 1st anniversary in my current company. Time flies, but my life is great and still improving =)

I am an avid blogger (not pro-blogger) nowadays when I can spare the time =)

I am also addicted to this fishing game online, and if i do get high score, like maybe around 15000-20000 pounds (which i still haven't but target and working hard to), I really want to win the invitation to a special event for "Made of Honor" early preview =)

Then there is this reno planning, shopping and chores that keep me occupied for a while too =)

I am also participating in a basketball tournament in Butterworth which require me travel there in an average of twice a week. So far the game going well, though I know that I am not performing as good as I used to be. But I enjoy the game and had a good exercise =)

There are many wedding dinners coming soon too =)

And there is this one thing that I will leave for other future post =)

I did something smart and stupid at the same time in the spring cleaning ordeal weeks back.

How? Let me explain.

My general contractor (whom is my friend as well) did remind me before to be careful when moving my old stuff to my new place, especially the risk of bringing along some "unwanted residents" as well.

These "unwanted residents" are not those creepy ghost kinda thing, but they are termites, geckos, spiders, cockroaches, ants etc. Insects to be exact. And you really don't want them to move in with you for sure.

So, smart smart me come out with a countermeasure. I bought myself 5 packets of mothballs, and put some in each and every boxes that I packed, as well as in each and every cupboard corners and corners in my room.

The end result, my room now is virtually insects free. But at the same time, it is human free as well, because the mothballs smell is so strong that you need to wear a mask to be in the room.

So, there you have it. My smart move has made my room a biohazard area, forcing me having to sleep in another room yesterday +_+

I think this month is not really a good month.

1st May, I met with an accident. And last week, I got a nightmare (I think this count gua, because I seldom have nightmare one, hehe "p)

We also have this Typhoon Nargis in Myanmar, then we have this 8.0 Richter scale (revised) earthquake in Sichuan China, lots of life were lost in these 2 major tragedies.

Weather is very hot, and may people got sick recently too. And yesterday, a friend of mine had a very sad sad day. Bad news everywhere =(

Well, we still have 12 more days to go in the month of May. Hope that no more bad things anymore.

And in this very day of Wesak Day, I pray for WORLD PEACE =)

hehe, when I dont watch movies, I will be parting with cinemas for quite a long time.

But when I do watch movies, it will be too frequent.

How? In the past 24 hours, I have watched 2 movies - Narnia & The Forbidden Kingdom =)

Narnia is good, better than the first one, I personally think.

For The Forbidden Kingdom, just average. The only scene that I would give a thumb-up would be the fighting scene between Jet Li and Jacky Chan, hehe =)

Oh ya, today has been a busy day as well. Been driving here and there, but spent a lot of quality times with many friends, just regret that those moment were too short.

Lastly, the swimming pool at my future place to live in is ready. Got to know about it when I went there today. A very big and nice pool. Guess in the future, I will learn how to swim there =)

Today is the busiest day in the whole month for me. Therefore, almost couldn't make time to make a post today.

Well, since I am a blog addict, how could I not blog at least one post if I can spare a little time from the day? =) But unfortunately this gonna be a quick one (hopefully). Because after this, I still need do some work, as well as I need to attend a meeting at 11pm later, will be dialing in from home.

Actually a couple of things. But before I go into the main topic, let me do an advertisement here for the secondary topic, hehe =)

I actually learnt something new today, and I think by sharing it out may benefit some of you =)

Well, to all future brides and bridegrooms, when you all are getting into the detail preparation for the traditional chinese wedding ceremony, some of you newbies who wants to do it all by your own may be wondering where to get all the "things" that required for the ceremony, right?

I too was puzzled when a friend of mine asked my help to search for the BIG BIG chinese character 喜喜 stickers

Well, fear not! Me, the resourceful jasonlou (after asking around) has found a place in the heart of Georgetown, where you can get everything under the sun for Chinese traditional wedding ceremony =)

The place is located at Lebuh Nordin. Too vague? not really helpful? Okok, let me point you the direction.

From Pragin Mall, where Traders Hotel is on your right and you can see traffic light ahead, turn left after passing the traffic light at the junction near Gama. After passing Gama, turn left on the first junction on your left. That road is Lebuh Nordin. Drive along the road for about 200m, you will notice a couple of shops on your right which is selling these stuff. You couldn't miss the place because they have very attractive red color sign

Ok, done with my community service message, and is about time for the main topic. However, the tone gonna be a bit harsher already, because it is going to be something that jasonlou gonna write negative review about, and probably curse a little "p

"extortion" a.k.a "daylight robbery"

Well, you all know that I am doing renovation for my condo, right? Have been planning for that for about more than a month. Many details there, but I will just write randomly here.

Even before the condo I bought complete its construction, I had heard about triads in Penang who venture into the lucrative renovation services, "taking care" of the area that under their "care", and through many ways, earn big by charging higher than market price for their "services". Here, I term these people as "internal contractor"

For my condo renovation, I am using my friend's renovation service. My friend has been dong renovation as a general contractor for many many years, and I had seen many of his works, and very satisfied and want to use his service. So, my friend here is termed as "external contractor"

Well, me at first was quite annoyed about this "internal contractor" thing, trying to think of loopholes to avoid them completely? But there isn't anything much that I can do after some thought. I began to think, "Well, is a society where both sides need each other to survive. Is about equilibrium, balancing, yin yang, symbiotic, love and hate etc etc"

So, I began to accept a little about using some of their services that is unavoidable, like hacking work. Legally speaking or unofficially speaking, the hacking task has to be done by the "internal contractor".

So, for my little kitchen that need some hacking away the wall tiles for built in cabinets, which can be done in a few hours, "internal contractor" charged me exorbitant RM800. I did survey around, for such kitchen hacking if using "external contractor", it only cost you max RM200, and the "external contractor" still makes profit. FINE!!! I am still ok with it.

For a pile of hacked tiles that need disposal, which virtually just cart away through lift to the dustbin truck at the ground floor, "internal contractor" charge me RM300. FINE, I will still use them.

But today while finalizing the deal for the hacking and disposal, the "internal contractor" got to know that I am also using "external contractor" for the grill and awning, and not using theirs.

To my surprise, the "internal contractor" burp out a cost of RM600 for using "external contractor" grill and awning.

I puzzled! I then ask why? Then the "internal contractor" told me that there are some past cases there, where "some contractors" (dunno internal or external) moved the grill and awning through the lift, damaged some stuff in the lift, cost some money for repair it and the "building management" charged the "internal contractor" because no culprit where caught, forcing "internal contractor" to come out with this RM600 policy to cover their lost.

WTF!! I am not the person who damaged your lift, why should I be charged for something that I didn't do?

Of course I didn't say that in front of the "internal contractor". I calmly asked back. "Is this RM600 a deposit? Where I can claim it back if no damage was found to the lift after my contractors move the grill and awning?"

WTF, the fella "internal contractor" said a BIG NO!

Cool down, I still cool down... I told the fella "internal contractor" that I will check with my "external contractor" first. I then walk away.

Well, you know what I am going to do?

I will wait until the "internal contractor" finished the work they suppose to do about the hacking in my kitchen. Only after that, I will take my action.

I will walk to the "building management", asked them in the face what is this RM600 all about? And do they know anything about it!

Btw, "building management" is a company who temporarily in charge of the condo management, who foresee the "internal contractor" as well. But so far dealing with them, all they do are legally stuff. But when talk about reno term and conditions with them, they PUSH everything to "internal contractor", where I have to deal with these "none sense" and "building management" just turn their deaf ears. Bloody hell!

If things doesn't really goes well with the "building management" about the RM600, where they play dumb again, I am going to make a police report, because I REFUSE to pay RM600! I already "give face" by letting them "suck my blood" for the kitchen hacking, now they had gone overboard!!! Daylight Robbery indeed! RM600 for DOING NOTHING AT ALL!!!

Of course, I do understand that filing a police report sometimes doesn't really help (you know why), and may just cost me some more money for just filing the report. I dont really give a damn, I just want to exercise my right legally, and show my protest. Probably I would rally some of the residents there too about this issue.

Let's shall see how the things take it's course. Ending the post with a little feeling of "piss"

Yeah, I had nightmare yesterday, which totally seems so surreal and woke me up in fright.

So, the story goes like this...

On a one fine working day, the IT guy come to me and said

"I need your macbook"

Without any much thinking, I gave him my Myra.

A while later, the IT guy came back to me and gave me this - Macbook Air

I was like

"WOW!"

I then asked

"Where is my Myra?"

The IT guy replied

"I configure it for the new employee. This is your new one!"

* time out: you must be thinking - hey, where got nightmare, you are having a spanking new kick-ass macbook air what! And should be calling me liar by now. Well, please continue reading this *

I then happily accepted the Macbook Air and started to play around with it.

But then hor, something seems not right. I cant find some files and folders.

By then only I recalled that Macbook Air only has 80G of hard disk space, while my Myra has 160G with 100G++ of data in it.

So, do the math, where is the rest of my 20G++ data?

OMG, some of my data is missing!!! Arrrrgh!!!

By that time, it was already after office hour, and the IT guy already gone.

Freaking out, I called the IT guy at his mobile. Waited a while before he answered, but the line was blur, and couldn't get heads or tails of what he is saying.

I was like double "Arrrggghhh" by then *_* Super duper freaking out!!!

Until I woke up in fright, just to realized that it was just a dream, and released a relief "ahh..."

But hor, looking at the wall clock, I AM LATE FOR WORK!

Not too long ago, Myanmar was hit by the typhoon nargis, and claimed even more lives, and many are still dying. Really a lot of disasters happening recently. This is sad.

I remembered that I was greatly touched by the article, especially the photo, therefore cut it down for keeping until this very day.

For introductory, this is my childhood's Knight Rider.

Okok, it has nothing resembling a Knight Rider screened on TV long time ago, but it is still look like one for me, me indulging in my own childhood imagination "p

I am not really sure since when I had it already, but I can still remember that it was a present from one of my uncle, probably when I was still in primary school. AND having a remote control electronic car at that time was really such a cool and best thing ever =)

I also remember I played with it a lot until the antenna fall off, but I stick it back myself =)

I also remember that the headlights can open up if you bang it head-on to an obstacle like a wall at full speed, and it wont spoil either, such a tough car, like Knight Rider, hehehe =)

Surprisingly that I found it still kept in one of my cupboard last weekend. Sentimental stuff!

I haven't put on new batteries and check whether it is still working. But no worry, I have plenty of time to do so, because am going to keep it for many years to come =)

Also looking forward to the coming soon Knight Rider movie too =)

Apparently, it is a gathering by a group of people to show their support for the 5 Hindraf detainees under Malaysia one and only ISA.

It was a peaceful gathering as far as I was there, but lots of police started to show up later, and I wasn't there anymore after that. Not sure how was the ending.

It resized and added watermark for me automatically and nicely on top right corner of every photos.

Just a little drawback, the watermark is somewhat a bit smaller, anyhow, still livable =)

Yup, you heard me right. One of my friend whom I brought out for food sampling around Seberang Perai to Lunas today taught me this self-created term of "foodgasm".

Is like when you just ate something extraordinary delicious, that makes you so high and disconnect from the reality for a while, or something like that, synonym to under 18SX term of... (don't want too further into that here "p)

So, from afternoon to the evening, we tasted the Raja Uda corner coffee shop famous curry fish head (i dont remember the shop name, coz im quite bad with names "p), tasted the delicious pig intestine sour vege soup in the same coffee shop, went to Lunas for the famous roast duck (this time ate with porridge, felt the authentic teow chew style =) and lastly finish the trip with a bowl of saliva drooling ice kacang with sarsi syrup, yummy... muahahaha =)

Out of the 3 places for 4 dishes, we had 2 times of foodgasm.

Oops, excuse me *_* (shy shy a bit "p)

The Lunas roast duck wasn't really a kick but stuff, probably good roast duck is aplenty.

Anyhow, that aside, we were blasted out of the world for that evening, muahahaha =)

Hi everyone! How was the weekend? =)

I spend mine at home, as well as going out, and the most special of all, I played my first basketball tournament (3on3 aside) just now tonight, that is after stop playing since August last year sport's injury that caused starvation and my face bloated like this before.

Anyhow, no worry. Am now still got the "hand" and "some" as ever, and the most happy thing of all, enjoyed the first tournament game just now, without any injury, and sweat rigorously *big big smile* =)

Well, I think beside benefitting my friends, sharing it here in case you need one is not a bad idea as well. So, here you are, the template of the day =)

This is purely a friendly soft reminder for a better and more conducive working environment, nothing hostile or what so ever, and I hope that it is not taken in a negative way.

I am sitting a few cubicles not far from you, and I couldn't help not notice/hearing conversations that coming form your cubicle from time to time. At times, the volume level can be above medium and at worst case scenario, it can be quite uncomfortable up to the level of irritation and affecting me at work.

As we understand, "department name" is a big department with many people around us, and at times, what ever we do inevitably can affect the people around us. I hope by making you aware of this situation, you would understand how we actually felt, and take remedies gradually (not abruptly), because I do understand it would take times to adapt to a new situation.

For a simple example, probably you could take a walk-in discussion to a small meeting room or cafeteria if you feel that it would take a while.

Soft reminder: this post may be boring because it is about work

An email exchange with a friend this morning did give me a little thought/enlightenment about my past working experiences.

Having that thought, I think now is the best time to do a little reflections, about what I have learned from the past working environments, as well as my current attitude towards work, comparing the past and present once in a while, as part of rediscovering myself

Besides, within a month time, I will be celebrating my one-full-year-of-liberation-anniversary from previous pressure-cooker-ex-company, as well as one year anniversary here at my new work place, with lifestyle changes in a positive way for myself, and it is a all good things so far for me =)

For this post, I would like to share my thought about "US counterpart meetings".

When I was in my ex-company, the job requires frequent interaction with "US counterpart".

At that time, I was still naive, and blended into the already fixed culture, where we all ex-company employees in Malaysia have to wake up very early in the morning regularly for meeting at 6am/7am/8am/9am, and sometimes ridiculously at 4am/5am, just to have an overlap of a few hours to have meeting with the "US counterpart", where the "US counterpart" are still having their normal 9-5 office hour before they knock afterward.

To be partial, one hand cannot make a clap. So, on one side, some US counterparts take it for granted for ex-company employees in Malaysia to wake up early for meetings, while some ex-company employees in Malaysia (asian in general) likes to look up to 'kuai lo' (caucasian) as if perfect/holy/what-so-ever.

Well, the case in point is, ex-company employees have to accommodate/suck-up to the "US counterpart" most of the time sacrificing our sleeping time. And the pathetic part is, to some (not all) "US counterpart", we all are just 3rd world class labor who work like hell at low cost, yet ruin the market of normal "9-5 office hour".

But after working in another US company now, I observed the other way round, where the US counterparts do stayed back late or sacrifice their dinner time just to have a meeting with people here in Malaysia, and that is like already 10am or so over here in Malaysia.

The main point is, US or no US, they are just human like us, is just all about commitments. And the specific that I want to comment is, the ex-company culture has always been "corrupted", but yet majority employees there still got hypnotized into believing such culture. This is my opinion that I want to convey, and it is my pure opinion, got nothing to do with any other person's views or organization's view.

Just penning my thought, and you do the math yourself. If you agree, is about time to stand up for yourself, and do not treat norms/conventions as a habit/culture, because norms/conventions are the killers for all creativities/innovations. Quite a mouthful of words isn't it =) Well, until next posting about work & sharing.

50 cents, hehehe =)

A few months back, my blog sitemeter showed less than 10 unique hits per day. But that doesn't really demotivate me, so I keep on blogging. And today, I have an average of minimum 20 unique hits per day =)

Although 50 cents is just a very small sum, but it meant a lot to me. At least it is a testament that my blog is going at the right direction and gaining traction, and simply because earning isn't really the main agenda for me to write a blog, but having your loyal readership, understand me more and comments are even priceless =)

So, I would like to dedicate this 50 cents to all my readers out there, buy you all some sweets/hacks if I do get to see you =)

I think the blind also can tell that durian season is here, and it has started since last 2 weeks ago =)

I myself is a durian lover, along with many of my colleagues, babaleo, missjing etcetera etcetera =) So, for the moment, durian is MY PRECIOUSSSSS!!!

I tasted my house own grown durian last weekend, and was my first for this season. It was so so, because it wasn't really ripe.

So, today, after work, couldn't withstand the lure of durian, as well as the thought of Ms Linda tasted durian for so many times already for lunch this season *blerk*, I stopped by the regular stall besides Jelutong highway and told the familiar taukeh (stall owner) in hokkien

"ai ji liab gao gao koh koh eh"

translation: want one that is fleshy and bitter one =) hehehehehe

(I added the sound effect one "p)

So, the taukeh pick one big one from the ground and told me this is the last one of the kind for the day, hehehehehe (again, is sound effect "p)

Then, taukeh use his pocket knife that "slaughtered" millions of durian before , slice twice on the durian in lightning speed, and then revealed the bare yellowish sticky flesh (durian flesh, just to clarify "p) to me... OH MY PRECIOUSSSSSSS... Yummmmmmyyyyy...

So, without hesitation, I paid a hefty RM20 for that durian, then drove off quickly.

Fast forward a bit, so as of now, the PRECIOUSSSS... is now digesting in my stomach, with satisfaction =) Muahahahahaha!!!

And a little confession, my car and room is now filled with the durian aroma (to some of you, you may eewwwww.... "p)

No photo taken, because I just could wait to eat the durian just now "p

On a serious note, I remembered the taukeh told me just now that this durian season has very little durian only, and could only lasted for another 3-4 weeks only, then no more durian... =( sad news... sob sob. But not sure is true or not, and I believe the taukeh.

So, I guess I will be visiting the taukeh very often in the coming days/weeks, and the taukeh will be bery happy also to see me regularly =)

But then again, the thought of irregular hot weather and hazy days, and a little bit of sore throat does pass through my mind once. But what the heck, PRECIOUSSS is more important "p

By the way, can a few good PRECIOUSSS make a good Mother's Day gift this weekend? =) hehehehehe!!! Couldn't resist the thought. Muahahaha!!! Probably am still "drunk" with the durian just now "p

This is my very first emo tagged post. What have I become to??? *scratching head*

At office, it has been snail slow kinda day. Hazy and hot weather too.

After work, came back early and took bath to cool down.

Cooked myself 2 packets of instant kimchi ramen with half a dozen of frozen wantan and wallop it.

After the early dinner, read newspaper and watched 6pm cantonese series on ntv7.

After 7.15pm, getting dark and fell asleep in the living room with the tv on.

8.15pm, changed and went out on motorbike to visit the newly celebrated 1st anniversary and lovely couple - xwei and babaleo. This is the first time I been to xwei place, a nice and cozy place. Had a nice chit chat of catching up with them. Thanks for the company, yakult as well as GA4. Cherish the moment in between your busy schedules.

Later, became an illegal dvd distributer for a friend nearby by sharing out my kyle xy and GA3

Now, back at home and emo emo emo. Almost no blog post for today, but emo is a not bad post too =)

My choice later:- (1) go to sleep earlier OR (2) start watching GA4.

So, over the weekend, out of boredom in a hot evening, I find myself doing something useful by spring cleaning my room. It is a preparation for the move in July too =)

Anyway, spring cleaning is indeed a meaningful ritual. Lot of thing that you may have temporary forgotten and fond of suddenly appear before you, and you feel great to have it back again.

For starter, here are my old dictionaries, still look new isn't it =) I used to spend a lot of time with them.

Before I go back hometown for a relaxing weekend without connection, would like to share with you another new dining place that I tried yesterday. Ichiban! =)

Yesterday, an uni friend was in town for some event. So, a few of us got ourselves together for a dining outing in auto-city (again for me =)

At first, we were wondering what to take when we reached there because there are just too many selections. Was able to narrow down to Japanese & Korean, yet there are still many such restaurants.

But lastly, we choose Sakae Teppanyaki.

At first, we made a fool of ourselves for not noticing the "teppanyaki" in depth, by asking the waiter where is the sushi section, because all we see when we are in the restaurant was TEPPANYAKI. Damn, what a blur labor day...

Anyhow, we thought why not give it a try, and gladly, the food turned out really really nice =)

Again, my friend treat yesterday night, yet a bit paiseh, owe them a lot and surely will treat them a big big feast next time.

So, let the not-so-many-but-yummy photos do the talking =)

is labor day, and while waiting at a traffic light today, I saw a city council officer giving out summon to car parked without paying the meter. City council really work hard, even on public holiday ya.

I am such a grown up, but never thought that I will still make such a careless mistake, to land me with a stiff right leg and some bleeding at the base of the sole.

Me and my friend missed the motorcycle coming from behind the bus while crossing the busy road. Really silly.

Anyway, the good thing is, my friend is not injured (just a little shocked), and I just sustained a little bruise and stiff right leg. Things could have been worst if it was a car.

And no worry, I have my right ankle x-rayed and checked, no fracture etc, just some swell. I got myself an MC too for tomorrow. However, this will prevent me from any sports for quite a while too =( what a silly 1st of May thing. And surely that today is not my day *_*

It has been a very long time since I am in a dilemma, and would never thought of myself in such situation again, especially tonight *_*

The truth is, my ex (not the ex-company ex), is getting married real soon, and I am invited.

I really cant make up my mind, to attend or not to attend...

It took me a very long time just to sign the online guest book just now, and am not sure how long it gonna take me tonight just to reply her email later... argh...

Don't get me wrong, I am very happy to see her taking the next step of reunion with her soul partner in life, who love her a lot.

But the thing is, I am very very embarrassed and cant imagine of showing my face there at the wedding dinner, for the guilt that I could still remember for breaking the relationship that cost her confidence until this very day, an obvious thing that I could sense from her wedding proposal story on the web *_*

And last Friday, as some of you might already know, I attended the farewell dinner of 2 "ex-company" beautiful engineer friends at TGIF.

Talk about the food first, the food was really nice, but very very pricey too...

This glass of plain-ketchup-taste tomato juice cost a whopping RM5.90 without tax yet *_*

Shrimp Martini as appetizer. Tasted like the korean kimchi (which I like a lot), but not really suitable as appetizer. I think suitable as a dish =)

This main course is like a nasi goreng (fried rice) with a grilled white dory fish (actually is a whitefish, not sure whether they are the same or not) as topping, and some broccoli as green "p

MUD OF CHOCOLATE PIE!!! The moment I see it, I knew I had already fell in love, because I love chocolate. =)

The first few spoons tasted like heaven, "ada umph" =)

But the next few spoons, you tasted the chocolate and coffee bitterness already *_*

The following one, you felt the sugar rush d *___*

And all you can do was just keep on munching, trying to finish that plate chocolate, not a really good feeling indeed...

These are the 2 very creative farewell gifts, self-made by 2 of our very put-a-lot-of-effort friends. I love them very much too. Why I don't have one of these for my farewell "p (joking ya)

Last Friday night was a colleague's get together outing night, that was right after the other "ex-company" friends' farewell dinner, which I will blog about in another post =)

One of my colleague was the organizer of the event, and was excited since the beginning of last week, because Friday was the day when he was free from drinking restriction, cos wife was out of town "p

The theme for the night was "Pasang Kuat-kuat!"

Is a Malay sentence, which literally given meaning by us as "Dress to kill!" =) Yeah!

Anyhow, few of us followed the dress-code, and most of us just came with the same outfit we wore to office... including me "p

Yet, the dress-code doesn't prevent us from having lot of FUN!!!

We all had a great time. And to me, it has been so long since I last stayed up that late (which broke my rule of minimum 7hrs of sleep *_*) to chill out in a pub drinking with friends.

The last that I could remember was with Jules, Beng, and the "fuzzy" others (because I was drunk) some time back, and that was when I was still with my "ex-company".

Anyhow, I didn't get drunk that night because I am the driver, limited myself with only a cup of beer =)

So, without any further delaying, Kodak moment =)

Well, since a post last year about helping out some friends financially end of last year, my mindset now in this domain has changed dramatically.

My principal now is, I won't lend to friends money anymore, no matter how close we are.

The only exception is when I decided to donate instead of lending, and is for valid case that deem by me. That is all, and I think it is the best for now.

As for why, out of the 4 persons that I lend the money to before (those that I could remember), big sum or small sum, I only get one repayment, which is the same person that I talk about in that post. The rest, some are still in the process of "negotiating"... Some, I think I will just forget about the existence of that person...

Bad isn't it. Well, I felt despair sometimes when occasionally thought of them. Some seems like totally missing, or even if when you do see some of them, they tend to avoid the topic and assume that nothing really happened, and the saddest thing is that some were and are your really close friends or elder.

Specifically, one of the despair sometimes happened just a few days back. When I was cleaning up my email address book, a friend's name caught my eye, who I suddenly recalled that I did lend him some money many many years back. See, this kind of thing you wont really forget if you lend him/her money, unless you really decided to donate it out, because once you donate, case close with open heart.

For background, this friend is my secondary school friend, we were very very close. We loved basketball very much. I remembered he taught me basketball too when I first join the team, although he is younger than me. I remembered we watched Michael Jordan Chicago Team on VCR at his house before training sessions at the school in the evening (that was the 90s). Those time was great. But years after that, he didn't continue study and started working, and me started working too after graduating. At that time, my salary was still at entry level, and has a lot of liabilities, but I tried to fork out some to help, but since then, never brought up anymore.

So, with some emotional feelings, I wrote an email to this friend of mine asking about the debt, whom I didn't see for years, and don't really know whether the email address is still valid or not.

But am not sure how will our friendship like in the future, because the first topic that we talk about after many years of not seeing each other is debt instead of the normal usual "how are you doing?" *_* So, debt between friends is a bad thing isn't it?

The 2 hours class comes free as complimentary when you buy a new Mac computer, to get you familiarized with your new Mac.

And today, I attended the class at Hardwicke Centre, along with the 19 other new Mac owners =)

At the class, I had some of my usage questions answered, learnt some new Mac terms, learnt that there are still many things in Mac to explore and will find the best that suit me, especially at work and especially in blogging =)

All in all, the Brewer (instructor) is very good (obviously he had conducted the same class hundreds of times, yet still motivated and attentive), and the class is very informative and entertaining as well, especially to learn that Edison Chen also uses a Mac as well "p

As for me, I am getting along with Myra quite well for the past few weeks, because I have the help of some of my colleagues who are Macbook owners as well. Feel kinda great to have their around =)

funny scam

Remember the familiar strong chinese accent lady over the phone line calling you up congratulating you for winning a BIG prize money out of no where?

Well, it is nothing new but just a scam. I myself encountered it once some time back and find it a nuisance, and I just couldn't wait even a mili-second longer to brush off the fella when I received such call previously.

But today, I found a new meaning of playing along. It can actually be a fun thing if you acted along with the fella, and this is what my colleague been doing all along while having lotsa fun. Well, even Mr Kenny had those kind of experience before =)

For background, my colleague has been receiving numerous such phone calls, until she has polished up her talking skills to keep the line going as long as she can and as long as she is free.

Today while we were taking lunch and chit chatting, the fella called again. My colleague put on the speaker phone, and let her bla bla bla... yada yada yada... the same old stuff.

My colleague gave the fella false info when asked, asked the fella to repeat again and again for not able to catch what the fella said, at times even demanded the fella to pay her money etc.

And after like 20mins or so, when my colleague got bored, my colleague then tried her recent practiced line for such call. My colleague said:

"I know this is a scam all the while. I have purposely lengthen the conversation so that my friend can trace your whereabout from the computer. And now, I know where are you right now. Together with the recorded conversation and your whereabout, I will pass it to the police. So, run while you can, and hide while you can"

Before my colleague can finished her above line, that fella already hung up. All of us were laughing like hell, muahahahaha... =)

Btw, the fella called using a local registered h/p number 016-6683-569.

I tried to call back the number to scare them that this is the police calling, but sometime got through with nobody answering or sometime couldn't get through with the prompt of not able to record anymore voice mail. Obviously, this is a bogus line for scam, and when you couldn't get through, either they are preying on other victims during the day time or they have turned off the phone to sleep "in peace" at night.

Hehe, I now know how to treat such call in the future. Just play along if you have the time and battery to spare. At least by wasting the fella time, the fella wont have the time to prey on other possible victims. So. lets call the fella at 016-6683-569 while the line is still active =)

Why? Because tomorrow after work, I will be going to celebrate not just one, but two of my "ex-company" friends farewell, muahahahahaha... Today is a damn blur day for me, probably due to the medicine.

I started the morning by realizing that I forgotten my myra adaptor at home when I reached office. So, I drove all the way back from Georgetown to Bayan Lepas just for the adaptor, else my battery would run flat after hours *_*

Then, after light breakfast, I took medicine. Only later to realize that I overdose myself. How? Because I took both non-drowsy cough tablet and drowsy cough syrup at the same time *_*

Dinner time, I was waiting for Ah Beng to pick me up for dinner at guardhouse. Later Ah Beng called to inform that his car couldn't start. Therefore I have to drive. I went all the way up to 11th floor to my room, just to find out that my car key is with me all the while in my pocket. Damn... *_*

Well, finally I have the chance to read the book "Building People: Sunday emails from a CEO" this weekend, but only able to finish the first 2 chapters as of now.

It is an interesting book, a compilation of emails from a CEO to his staff about his thoughts, his visions and some sharing of personal life stories that close to us. Interestingly, as I read the book/emails, it more sounded like a blog post from a CEO to his staff who are reading it, only that it is through email =)

"five frogs on a log" is actually another book by 2 writers from PriceWaterHouseCoopers, which the author of "Sunday emails from a CEO" read and share with his company's staffs.

One thing for sure, this "five frogs on a log" book is next in my bin list after I have finished reading "Sunday emails from a CEO"

It has been a while since I last went for hiking or trekking, but am glad to be able to join one with 3 friends at Pantai Kerachut yesterday, simply because exercise is good, and breathing in tonnes of fresh air is even soothing, far away from the pollution and exhaust of vehicles.

within no time, we were back to our car, and a while later headed for lunch at noon. We decided to go for lunch at Fatty Loh Chicken Rice. Anyway, as odd as it may sound, I have never tried the authentic Fatty Loh Chicken Rice before, and yesterday was the first =)

The chicken is smooth, and the soup has herbal ingredient in it that tasted totally different than the ABC soup a normal chicken rice serve. At least it means that they did put some effort in every dishes they serve, but comes with a little bit higher premium than normal chicken rice does. All in all, is a great chicken rice meal.

Aside from getting some idea about house reno, I met some interesting friends just now at my friend's house warming. Actually, I only knew a few of them, and they all are bunch of high school friends who have been through thick and thin.

Since I went there alone, I joined into their group of school friends as an "alien", listening to their catching up & remember-the-good-old-school-day conversation. Kinda awkward, but they all are very friendly and welcomed me warmly, therefore I chipped into the conversation as well =)

One particular topic that I want to share about in this post is a couple of interesting cases in today's laws world. Apparently, lawyers do discuss day to day cases or top cases in the country (sourced from BAR) with other lawyers (and sometimes with friends) as part of their experience enriching/gaining process.

As a matter of fact, most of my friends are engineers, and rarely anyone from the law side. The only law realities that I have been exposed to are the house loan agreements, the "Lingam" case and some cases that being "rehearsed" in the "comedycourt". I mean, how often can you heard about real cases quote from a lawyer? Very interesting and funny, because law is created by human to organize human, but it is not perfect =)

Both cases are about marriage

Case1

There is this one recently top case being discussed and only to be known in today's Malaysia "law world", where a plaintiff institutes a suit in court to sue her husband for causing her to lose her virginity. But the thing is, they had registered as husband and wife some years back, had wedding reception too, but thing takes a u-turn this day, causing some "unhappy feeling" that leads to this "interesting" suit. The most interesting part is, the lawyers did went to a great length in discussing the case, including finding a standard/method to define virginity etc

Case2

A wife called up a lawyer seeking consultation, asking for advice whether to "divorce" or to "nullified of marriage" (I don't really remember the exact term, but I directly translate from mandarin). Although both term seems alike, but they are different. The wife claimed that she and her husband have NOT had sex before although they have been registered for 2 years. Reason is the wife and husband stayed separately, and they are the conservative one who think they can only do "that" after the traditional wedding reception. Therefore, ideally AND in this case AND if the wife claim is true, the "nullified of marriage" is the path to go, because with this, the girl is still "jade girl" (directly translated from mandarin). But the lawyer cant believe her, although not probable. Because if the lawyer took up the case, the lawyer will be in an awkward position in front of judge if the husband claimed that they had sex before. I mean, how to prove that? It will be a long................ case...............

Moral of the 2 stories, marriage cases are complicated to handle for lawyer yet interesting, and if a lawyer want to be on the safe side & 9 to 5 routine, better stayed on the property cases. Just a thought =)

Lastly, in an unrelated note, all hail to the not-so-new government initiative to reform the judiciary system in our country from the highest level.

I think the movie name is (translated directly) "son, you got ball/guts" =p

The dinner was nice. One thing that I couldn't help not notice is that the wedding reception atmosphere in KL is actually quite different than Penang. People dressed fashionably & grandly, something that we seldom see back here in Penang. Luckily, I didn't wear a pair of jean and a t-shirt "p

Sometime, it is nice just to walk around and discovering things at slower pace, if you have the time. That day, I have the time to spare =)

The walk around Petaling Street brought back some old memories as well. Believe it or not, more than 12yrs back, I was once stayed around Petaling Street for 9 months for study and basketball training =)
