Tanjong Piandang

"At the beach that is still spared from development"

In this Deeparaya holiday, since i have spare time,i drove my parent to Tanjong Piandang to visit one releative. In distant memory, i remember that i went to the place before when i was still very young, i think more than a decade ago. Cant really remember how old was i that time, but is when i was still in primary school. Played with my cousins there in the previous visit. Now that everyone has grown up, working, some even have their family, not much to talk about already. Because to some of us, we havent interact with each other for a long long time. However, good to see my parent and aunt have a good long chat. Spend a day there at Tanjong Piandang, had lunch, went to the beach and visited one of the famous temple over there. To paint some name here, Tanjong Piandang is near Kuala Kurau, Kuala Gula, Simpang Ampat etc. Some where near there. The place is relatively a fishing village and still spared from industrilization. My mother bought some salted fish over there too, the place is famous for it. A good trip, now that i know the route there, can go there some time in the future again with parent. There is one kid that i cant forget, my aunt was taking care of him as a nanny. He is 4 yrs old now, the son of the shop owner who sold the salted fish to my mother. Why so special about him, he is excessively hyper active and naughty. Cant sit still once he woke up. And very daring and good in scolding people, even strangers. He ignore danger and without supervision, he can wanders to the middle of the road. He will harrass kids that he likes, and hits/scolds kids that he think are ugly or dont like. Not a good thing isnt it? Guess he still need a lot of time to be taught. It just hits me just now, whether am i that naughty as well when i was that small. Who knows. May be i used to be naughty, but not that naughty i think :)

TangLung Festival 2006

"At PISA"

TangLung festival is just a week away, and there are a lot of event going on although the moon is just semi only in the night sky. Yesterday, as planned, a few of my colleagues and I went for TangLung festival at PISA, and 2nd round at Ayer Itam, cant get enough at the first venue :)
The PISA event was ok, meant mainly for kids, and we are not kids anymore, so didnt get any goody bag :) Anyway, there's TangLung parade for kids, large ice sculpture TangLung, Drum performance, chinese orchestra etc. We stayed a few hours there, took some photos, but cant really feel the tanglung fest there.
So, we decided to go for 2nd round at Ayer Itam, which has similar event. The Ayer Itam one was better, although it is almost near the end of the event. More TangLungs and attention-catching performances. There were a lot of TangLungs, all the creations of individuals for the TangLung making competition. The Tai-Chi performance was interesting, especially the jump that is high & very hard to do, followed by some chinese choirs etc. We took lots of photos there, mostly are TangLungs. Really interesting. The photos posted here are from my camera only. Will post more when i have my colleagues sharing. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival :)

Pantai Kerachut 09-23-2006

Hi everyone. Apology for not updating the blog for a while. Although PDC Cup has ended, there are still a lot of events going on lately :) Still got basketball tournaments (both in progress and up-coming), work started to picked up as well and there are some activities with friends too, not to mentioned 3 up-coming wedding dinners :) Let me start the blog again with the past event "Pantai Kerachut", a wonderful trip :)

Pantai Kerachut is located at the North-West of Penang Island, surrounded by forest reserve. This trip is the 2nd time i went there, but went with joyous new group, they are my colleagues & their LB (Lady Boss) :), but this is the first time join their group for the event, and especially with my "PARC1 APR - Tommy Zai". "Lim Pek" dont have the opportunity to join us because he just came back from Hong Kong and he thought he was not invited. His loss :p
The itenary was simple as below:-
8:30am: meet at ROTI BAKAR for breakfast
9:00am: Start journey to Teluk Bahang
9:30 am: arrived at Teluk Bahang
10:00am: Start trekking journey after a short briefing and final checking . Arrange for boat ride back
12:00pm: Arrived at Pantai Kerachut. Picnic Lunch & crazy events
3:00pm: Start journey back via boat
3:30 pm: Arrived at Teluk Bahang
3:45 pm: Dismiss

We didnt follow the time as stated, but we did managed to end the trip with good feeling & experience. Btw, my car was seperated from the other 2 cars as they traveled to Balik Pulau for famous Laksa, yummy... Unfortunately we miss that because we thought it was over with the itenary. Our losss.

Momento highlights:-
- The sight of rainy sky just not far away from the beach. Eventually, the rain did came, yet we still played like crazy in the water
- The feeling of relaxation, stretching the arm, closing the eye, wind blowing on the face (Cut!!! Not Titanic Scene ya! Dont over imagining :p Now back to Action & Rolling...) not to mention rains falling on the face :) Yup, bathing in the rains.
- The moment where everyone are "kinky" artists when got burried under the sand and sand sculptures started to take form (censorship was taken place in the blog), haha!
- The moment where other fail to lift me up and tried very hard to throw me to the sea, hahaha... Pay back time, i did throw FF & Tommy Zai to the water, kekeke...
- The group bathing moment with camera flashing here and there (censorship again took place too) :)
- The scary while exciting bumpy boat ride back to Teluk Bahang due to rough sea after rain. I was not hot at all that day.

All in all, thanks to everyone for the moments. It has been a while, and although i am 27yrs now (yeah, i am old), we still played like kids that day :) Till our next journey. Special thanks to TM, TY, HH, Vivien, YC, Kelly, Tommy Zai, PL, FF, SH & Jess.
