619-F Lam Mee

After PDC Cup Basketball,I am still always occuppied with a lots of events :) Too many to write and update.Right now I will write about "Lam Mee" first. Those pending PDC Cup etc will be done in later days :)
My colleague,Soek Junn(SJ) invited me and around 10 other colleagues to her house on Friday (yesterday) for the original Lam Mee,courtesy of SJ mum,619-F is the address :)
FYI,SJ mum knows how to cook a lot of food.Previously, there was another same feast for Asam Laksa, yum yum,but I missed that feast because I was going back home over the weekend.Fortunately this time I have the chance to taste the Lam Mee.

The Lam Mee is really delicious. Pour with delicious broth cooked with chicken & other ingredients (sweet & just nice); garnished with seasoned meat & prawn, artificial crab meat, specially fried egg, taugeh and 3 other types vegetables (all 3 give different fresh vege taste);served with irresistable spicy sambal (home made); followed by a cup of icy & fully fortified vitamin C orange juice to chill the spicy taste in the mouth ... yummy yum yum... :) I ate 2 plates of that :)

After the meal,we were fortunate as well to experience the Chinese Opera show just right behind SJ house. It has been so long since I last watch opera.Found out that Chinese Opera has been modernized, having LED panel to display the synchronized mandarin subtitile for the play, lots of banner advertising the troupe & agent, bigger amplifier & speaker for the sound system... these are a few big distinguishes from my distant child memory on Chinese Opera. :)

Thanks SJ & SJ mum! Because of you,we have the opportunity to taste the yummy dinner meal,as well as experience the Chinese Opera.Xieh xieh, kam siah, terima kasih, arigato... >_<

presidio

Recently had been doing some reading and found new word/terminology. Guess my blog will switch from photos to a dictionary. Hope you all dont mind. I find the word/terminology source/usage rather interesting, especially AMD (presidio vs LaGrande) (",)

Presidio
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Presidio was a type of fortress built by the Spanish in North Africa during the 16th century to protect against pirates. Presidios were located in the Southwest United States as well:

The

The
Presidio San Ignacio de Tubac was founded in June of 1752 in Tubac, Arizona

"go dutch"

"go dutch", a phrase that i had learnt from my "stxxxy & !*^$%#%^&*" ex-supervisor, which will always imprint in most of our mind (anyone who are the same department with me before under that supervisor will know what i am talking about (",)).
Coincidently, I encountered another phrase related to "dutch" again today during my reading through a technical document, which trigger my curiosity on the "dutch" word. Indirectly as well, the "go dutch" phrase or "dutch" word will always synonym to the "be-loved" ex-supervisor.
Here are a few "dutch"s that I found from "www.dictionary.com". Enlightening :) Enjoy... Do share with me if you find more "dutch" related phrase/idiom etc

"go dutch" - to have each person pay his or her own expenses: a dinner where everyone goes Dutch.
"in dutch" - in trouble or disfavor (with someone): in Dutch with the teacher for disturbing the class.
[my own best example: I am totally in dutch with my ex-supervisor for millions of reasons]
"double dutch" - 1. Language that cannot be understood, gibberish, as in They might have been speaking double Dutch, for all I understood. This usage dates from the 1870s (an earlier version, however, had it as high Dutch) and is heard less often today than the synonym double talk; 2. A game of jump rope in which players jump over two ropes swung in a crisscross fashion.
"high dutch" - Very abstract; difficult to comprehend or surmount; grand; noble

Heavenly Sky

Today, i have the fortunate to go hike Penang Hill with "Lim Pek" (Uncle Lim in Hokkien(",)), an adhoc event where "Lim Pek" only confirm yesterday. At 6.30am, rain drizzled. At first, thought of cancelling it and go directly for dimsum (totally out of the keep fit topic (",)). Anyway, last minute decided to go also by bringing our sport shoes along :) When we reached Botanical Garden, no more raining and sky was clearing. The hike up took around 1hr15min. When reached the Penang hill top, the view was really amazing. What a fortunate to see such a scenery views, just after rain, with clear sky (i called it heavenly sky), beautiful morning sun rays, a layer of fog covering certain part of the land and ships & ports reflection on the sea surface (cant really view it in the photos, because too small, but really can see it with bare naked eye). I really like the view, "Lim Pek" too :) Sharing with you all the photos. Hope they are as eye soothing to you too as i viewed it this morning :)

for those in my company, can view the photos from this share folder "//clou-mobl0/Trip 2006-09-02 Penang Hill Hike". Enjoy :)

p/s: wanna know who "Lim Pek"? See the last photo :)
