watermark

have you notice something different on the photos that I posted tonight?

hehe =)
I added watermark on the photos, using a newly found apple OS software - Jetphoto Studio.

It resized and added watermark for me automatically and nicely on top right corner of every photos.

Just a little drawback, the watermark is somewhat a bit smaller, anyhow, still livable =)

This is jasonlou watermark =)

giving name

I have heard about people giving name to their precious macbook, and it seems quite an interesting thing to do. Therefore, I decided to get one for my mac as well =)

And after days of soul searching and mind-flipping, I was able to narrow down the name scope to French and Feminine.

Why French? French name seems cool.
Why Feminine? Well, girls give guy name for their mac, and guys should give girl name for their mac too, just that simple =)

After some googling later today, I finally found a perfect name at www.babynamesdirectory.com

So, ladies and gentlemen. I am proud to present you ...... "Myra" the current love of my life
Say hi everyone =)

sidebar

I added a section called "Latest Blog Addition" to the sidebar links, to intro new blog link that I found recently and added to my reading list =)

And the latest one is myfm DJ Mei Yan blog, which I knew about it when Mei Yan discuss about the topic "blog" in the morning over the radio.

I listen to myfm everyday while driving to work, and the topic discussed today intrigued me. Blogging is indeed picking up its momentum and we are just touching the tip of an iceberg.

On an interesting note from the discussion topic, found out that a lot of people who share their experience reveals that they got to know their love one, husband, wife, ex-gf, ex-bf etc from online, and some from blogging. hmm... why this never happen to me? "p

sofa

Note: this is a backdated post, about 2 weeks back

furniture hunting aint no char koay teow business

you have this

  • Rozel
  • Lorenzo
  • Kamay
  • Mekio
  • Rozzini
  • Cellini
  • Aussini
~~ inhale ~~

and some other furniture showrooms not as famous as above but mushroomed around a small small town called "Georgetown" :)

And the story begins with... On one fine Saturday, sparked by a Lorenzo sales advertisement on the newspaper, I dragged my lazy butt out for a sofa hunting. I was thinking it should be about time that I get myself started with the house design, and sofa is something that I think can be begin with.

Armed with an idea that sofa is actually something for people to sit on, I went hunting hunting "p

Start with Lorenzo, it was a 2 storeys building located just beside Dato' Keramat Rd. Over there, I instantly found the love of my life on the 2nd floor, where it hide itself at one small corner, only to let me see it's side view like.... this...

(to clarify, the price tag that you see on the right is not for this sofa ya)

I like L-shape sofa, especially the one that made of fabric because I can only afford that.

And boy, the I first sat on it, it felt soooooooo nice... that I almost fell asleep there... okok, I am exaggerating :)

One exact word to describe it - "cozy", and is the type that I like, and the L-shape can be changed from left to right, and as for price, is the cheapest sofa at Lorenzo.

But with self-discipline, I restrained. So, I chit chat with the promoter there for a while about the offer, exchanged contact and went out to other furniture shops around Georgetown.

After around 3hrs, I found no other L-shape fabric sofa as nice as the one at Lorenzo. Some sofa are not that soft, some design is not of my liking, some are too big that cant fit into the living room, some L-shape are at the wrong side of my living room and I cant adjust it, some are even more expensive by a few times (although really really nice) bla bla bla. So, I couldnt stop keep thinking back about the "one" at Lorenzo, damn...

So, I went back again since the offer seized the next day, and I dont want to travel again to Georgetown from Butterworth the next day.

I instantly deposited 30% of the sofa value with the promoter :) am very happy for the purchase, even until today, although this is the 2nd time I burnt a hole in the pocket within half a year *_* The first time I burnt a hole was purchasing a digicam end of last year during YES.

Many of you should be wondering how much does the sofa cost right? Well, it cost me RM2336, including transport fee.

I know I know, some of you may be shouting "WHAT!!! RM2.4K FOR THIS?"

I couldnt deny it is indeed expensive. But I really like it, it is really comfortable, and I appreciate the quality, and I dont want to regret it later for having to miss it.

Well, there you have it, a new hole in my pocket, and a cozy sofa for my "coming soon" living room :)

From that day's survey, I also found many ideas from Mekio, and while driving around, I also see some nice nice lighting showrooms. I didnt went into the lighting showrooms. Probably lighting will be my next hunting target.

If you have something to share about lighting, feel free to post your comment ya :) FYI, my humble place is just a 700-900sqf of condo. Comment away...

causality

everything that we do, like it or not, will have its reflexes (good or bad) from anyone or anything, this is cause and effect theory

Like parking issue, will have complain letter from me as a tenant,
Like my blog posting, will have the attention of the party involved,
just as example

some anonymous GUEST, who timid enough, most probably from the parking staff leaves this on my shoutout widget

"Guest: the parking company aleady know about what have you done in the blog. wait and see "

Am looking forward for a discussion formally, waiting and seeing.

mini project

So, what's the mini project that I worked on during the CNY?

Hehehe, it is a hobby robot that I bought from Japan when I went to Tokyo more than 4yrs ago :)

I forgotten how much it costed me, but what I can think of now is, if the jap already had these kinda things 4 yrs ago, what they have now will be beyond my comprehension. Scary thought isn't it.

And "NO", I am still not a geek "p

I started off with this box.
Yeah, lots of japanese text on it.

The only words that I can recognize is "AVOIDER III" and "mechatronic".
*phew*... it is going to be a tough one *_*

This is my dusty (I cleaned it actually) toolbox that I dig up from somewhere in my room.
With it, the assembly process become "no problem", or may be not "p

I setup the solder iron (kinda like the uni time).
Then I unpacked the box content, and I have all these parts.
So, which shall I start first? mini mini mani mo...

OK, let's start with the manual first.

Oppss... lotsa japanese jargon... *_*

The manual kinda interesting too, because it explain in detail about robotic evolution, i guessed only "p

So, according to the manual, I need to do these tiny tiny thing first.

"Haiya, all these small small things, no problem lar!!!"

AND I spoke too soon... I spent almost 2 hours soldering them, making sure each and every one of them are correctly soldered *_*

Here is the 2hrs well spent effort :)

ok, moving on to the big parts...

after some time...

nearly...

okok, the post is dragging too long d...

*Press button "fast-forward"*

heheheh...

...

...

...

...

And finally I present you ...

4yrs ago "AVOIDER III" from the land of rising sun

:)

Wanna see how it works? :)

Anyhow, it is a one hell of a noisy robot.

Therefore, I sent it away as a gift :)
